Sometimes we get email that really make all of the hard work we put in worthwhile. Here is one of those emails:

Just a note to say thank you for the excellent two packages I have used today. As you are no doubt aware that today was a strike day and unfortunately our school decided to close. Without politics being discussed I decided not to strike and used the Internet and two of your packages to host my lessons – run from the classroom, but with children in their homes. The technology worked seamlessly. My only issue was not having names on primary paint.  The software was quality all over and made my interactive lessons almost as they would be in the classroom. Thanks again.

So not only did we get some positive, quality feedback we also got a bug report :) Thanks to the sender!

When we designed PrimaryPad we knew that editing content on mobile devices would be an issue for a lot of people especially Apple device owners. Today we are pleased to announce that any Apple device running iOS5 will be able to edit pad contents. Enjoy! :)

Ever wanted to make a movie and needed an autoQue? Well why not collaboratively write your script in PrimaryPad then export it straight to our autoQue tool?

We have released the autoQue tool under an open source license and we will be adding it to the suite of tools available through the safe search website.

Check it out now, visit this pad then click Export –> autoQue

You can now chat with PrimaryPad using speech input (only supported in Google Chrome). This new feature allows you to talk into the chat dialogue saving those important finger muscles to do furious desk tapping and head scratching.

Try it out and let us know :P

Click on the W in the toolbar to send your pad contents to Wordle. Your pop up blocker/browser may block this so make sure you allow it to pop up!

We thought this was a good example of teacher/pupil engagement with PrimaryPad. Here you can see the timeslider being used to play back the document progress.

PrimaryPad is now back up, sorry about the downtime, we had a power cut at the data centre that stores PrimaryPad and a few other boxes. No other services were affected and no data has been lost.

PrimaryPad is currently unavailable due to a hardware issue that we are working quickly to restore, we will update you as frequently as possible.

Sometimes you want to embed a read-only saved revision of a PrimaryPad. To do this:

  1. Visit your pad
  2. Click Timeslider
  3. Click Link to read only pad
  4. Copy the URL from your address bar
  5. Append (add to the end) “?_theme=readonly” to the end of the URL
  6. Your URL should look something like this: http://john.primarypad.com/ep/pad/view/ro.6VTHXXzQ/rev.84?_theme=readonlyTo embed this pad on a page You need to use an iframe.

  7. Replace REPLACE_WITH_YOUR_URL in this example below:
  8. <iframe src=”REPLACE_WITH_YOUR_URL” width=600 height=600 frameBorder=”0″></iframe>

  9. Paste the whole of the above contents into your blog or site and you are good to go.
  10. What you copy/paste should look something like this..

    <iframe src=”http://john.primarypad.com/ep/pad/view/ro.6VTHXXzQ/rev.84?_theme=readonly” width=600 height=600 frameBorder=”0″></iframe>

    Enjoy!
